Repeating Renard’s explanation on Twitter: SecondLife stores 3D model data in an image (specifically, a UV map), where RGB = XYZ. This means that you can fuck with the image in an editor, and this will subsequently fuck up the model in really great and unpredictable ways.
All I can say is that I find this really damn cool and also weird as hell.
